Independence
We are not Kingsoft, not Microsoft, and not a download mirror. Trademarks belong to their owners. WPS Office® is a Kingsoft product. We link out; we do not wrap EXE files.
How we research
- wps.com for product claims, AI, cloud, and security language.
- Official download matrix.
- Microsoft Store 9NSGM705MQWC for the UWP feature list.
- Gizmodo’s software card for store ratings and platform list (10 Aug 2026).
- WPS Help Center articles on requirements, ads, and backup.
- Independent press (Windows Forum, Tech Talk, and others) for switcher stories.
History in one breath
WPS began in 1988 as a Chinese DOS word processor from the Kingsoft circle (often credited to Qiu Bojun / Pak Kwan Kau). It grew into Writer, Spreadsheets, and Presentation, later adding PDF and AI. Kingsoft reported on the order of 670+ million monthly active devices in 2026 filings covered by financial press.
If a page is wrong, tell us.
What we will not do
- Host EXE or DMG files.
- Sell WPS subscriptions.
- Publish cracked clients or hosts-file recipes aimed at license checks.
WPS, WPS Office, and Kingsoft marks belong to their owners. This handbook exists so English readers can find official doors and fix ordinary problems.
Editorial standards
We cite Kingsoft Help, wps.com, the Microsoft Store listing, and dated press. When a vendor changes a paywall, the in-app dialog wins. Corrections: contact.
User stories are composites. They exist so a searcher can recognize a pattern - ads, recovery, Linux fonts, a VAT workbook - without treating a first name as a case study.
