If a shortcut does nothing, open Settings → Keyboard / Customize. Linux desktop environments sometimes steal F5 or Super combinations.

Open Settings → Keyboard. Linux desktops steal F5 and Super combinations. macOS uses ⌘ instead of Ctrl for almost everything you already know. PDF zoom is Ctrl or ⌘ plus the mouse wheel.
